Interim Management

A manager for rent?

The term interim management refers to the transfer of management responsibilities for a limited time and for a particular purpose. It is always considered when a company itself has no adequate management resources for the task in question, if the situation calls for a temporary solution, or when a highly specialized requirement is to be fulfilled.

Areas of application are usually:

  • Project management,
  • Crisis management or
  • Change management

The advantages of assigning an interim manager in comparison to keeping a regular manager lie in the availability of time and energy of an interim manager, the shorter training period and the specific expertise, which an external person brings.
